Call for Nominations
For 2007 Issaquah Community Awards

The Kiwanis Club of Issaquah makes three awards each year at the Issaquah Chamber of Commerce Community Awards luncheon. These are a Volunteer of the Year Award, an Environmental Award, and a Spiritual Values Award. The awards and the criteria for which they are given are described below, as are the addresses to which nominations may be directed.

The Community Awards luncheon, sponsored by the Issaquah Chamber of Commerce, has ordinarily been held on a Thursday in May of each year. It is possible that the 2007 awards event will be a dinner held in the evening. You should phone the Chamber of Commerce at 425 392-7024 for information regarding the time and place for the 2007 awards.

 

Volunteer of the Year Award

Purpose:

To honor a person whose efforts have made a huge difference in our community

Criteria:

  • frequent volunteer in the Greater Issaquah Area
  • exhibits commitment by contributing a large number of hours over a significant period of time
  • has achieved outstanding results for the betterment of the community

To make a nomination:

Please send a one or two page nomination letter by April 1, 2007 to the Community Service Committee, Kiwanis Club of Issaquah, PO Box 1111, Issaquah, WA 98027.

 

Environmental Award

Purpose:

To honor responsible stewardship of Issaquah's natural environment

Criteria:

  • benefits to the environment and community
  • leadership and innovation
  • participation/involvement
  • transferability
  • economic benefit

Please send a single page nomination letter by April 1, 2007 to the Environmental Committee, Kiwanis Club of Issaquah, PO Box 1111, Issaquah, WA 98027.

 

Spiritual Values Award

Purpose:

To honor a person or organization which has significantly enhanced the human and spiritual values of the greater Issaquah area

Criteria:

  • for a contribution of a broadly religious nature

  • promotes morality, fraternity, and mutual understanding

  • provides comfort and reassurance in times of stress, turmoil, and personal loss

To make a nomination:
