Kiwanis Young Professionals

New opportunity for community- (and fun-) oriented young professionals

The Kiwanis Club of Issaquah has launched a satellite club to expand its service-oriented mission and social network to a younger crowd. Our regular meetings are held at the Issaquah Brew House or other venue (TBD) on the 2nd Tuesday of every odd month at 5:30pm.  (Snacks provided.)

While many young professionals are looking for opportunities to serve a greater purpose in Issaquah, they may be unable to participate in many of the main Kiwanis meetings and activities, which are during the work day, or they hope for a more informal environment. The young-professionals satellite, therefore, will hold its meetings in the evenings at social venues or even online.

Members will be instrumental in shaping the final details of the satellite and its projects. One proposal for a kick-off project is to refurbish a group of surplus school-district computers and distribute them to families in need. This idea and others will be discussed at the initial satellite gathering.

The definition of a “young professional” is broad: Anyone who feels young at heart who wants to meaningfully connect with peers while sharing their talents to better the Issaquah community. Founding members range in age from early 20s to a decade or two beyond and in occupations from financial advising to real estate development to communication.
